Technical Collaborations

From the good relationships developed between EU and Chinese NRENs during the ORIENT and ORIENTplus projects, and following the TNC BoF in 2016, a number of areas of interest for technical collaboration have been identified. These include the following:

• IPv4/IPv6 translation services
  This is an area where CERNET has considerable experience and expertise. Work is underway to evaluate whether the GÉANT community can benefit from these capabilities.
• Measurement
  This is being pursued in the frame of GÉANT’s SIG-PMV.
• Security
  This is being pursued between GÉANT’s and CERNET’s information security functions.
• Capacity planning
  This is being pursued through bilateral and trilateral discussions between GÉANT, CERNET and CSTNET.
